ISO 6953-1:2015 applies to


- manually controlled direct operated types (with or without relieving mechanism),


- manually controlled internal pilot operating types (e.g. nozzle flapper), and


- external pilot operated types.


In addition, it specifies the product marking requirements for pressure regulators and filter-regulators.


This part of ISO 6953 is applicable to compressed air pressure regulators with a rated inlet pressure of up to 2 500 kPa (25 bar) and an outlet adjustment pressure of up to 1 600 kPa (16 bar); and to filter-regulators with rated inlet and outlet pressures of up to 1 600 kPa (16 bar), in which the major contaminants are removed by mechanical means.


NOTE 1 1 bar = 0,1 MPa = 105 Pa; 1 MPa = 1 N/mm2.


The rated pressure should be selected from the preferred pressures listed in ISO 2944.


NOTE 2 The main characteristics to be included in the supplier's literature related to electrically modulated pneumatic continuous pressure control valves are specified in ISO 10094‑1.

This document specifies metadata for energy-efficient decoding, encoding, presentation and selection of media.


The metadata for energy-efficient decoding specifies two sets of information: complexity metrics (CM) metadata and decoding operation reduction request (DOR-Req) metadata. A decoder uses CM metadata to vary operating frequency and thus reduce decoder power consumption. In a point-to-point video conferencing application, the remote encoder uses the DOR-Req metadata to modify the decoding complexity of the bitstream and thus reduce local decoder power consumption.


The metadata for energy-efficient encoding specifies a quality metric that is used by a decoder to reduce the quality loss from low-power encoding.


The metadata for energy-efficient presentation specifies RGB-component statistics and quality levels. A presentation subsystem uses this metadata to reduce power by adjusting display parameters, based on the statistics, to provide a desired quality level from those provided in the metadata.


The metadata for energy-efficient media selection specifies decoder operation reduction ratios (DOR-Ratios), RGB-component statistics and quality levels. The client in an adaptive streaming session uses this metadata to determine decoder and display power-saving characteristics of available video representations and to select the representation with the optimal quality for a given power-saving.

ISO 3581:2016 specifies requirements for classification of covered electrodes, based on the all-weld metal chemical composition, the type of electrode covering and other electrode properties, and the all-weld metal mechanical properties, in the as-welded or heat-treated conditions, for manual metal arc welding of stainless and heat-resisting steels.


It is a combined standard providing for classification utilizing a system based upon classification according to nominal composition or utilizing a system based upon classification according to alloy type.


a) Paragraphs and tables which carry the label "classification according to nominal composition" or "ISO 3581-A" are applicable only to products classified to that system.


b) Paragraphs and tables which carry the label "classification according to alloy type" or "ISO 3581-B" are applicable only to products classified to that system.


c) Paragraphs and tables which carry neither label are applicable to products classified according to either or both systems.

ISO 6953-2:2015 specifies test procedures and a method of presenting the results concerning the parameters which define the main characteristics to be included in literature from suppliers of regulators and filter-regulators conforming to ISO 6953‑1.


The purpose of this part of ISO 6953 is the following:


- to facilitate the comparison of pressure regulators and filter-regulators by standardizing test methods and presentation of test data;


- to assist in the proper application of pressure regulators and filter-regulators in compressed air systems.


The tests specified are intended to allow comparison among the different type of regulators and filter-regulators; they are not production tests to be carried out on each pressure regulator or filter-regulator manufactured.


NOTE 1 The tests related to electro-pneumatic pressure control valves are specified in ISO 10094−2.


NOTE 2 Use ISO 6953‑3 for an alternative dynamic test method for flow-rate characteristics using an isothermal tank instead of a flow meter. However, this method measures only the decreasing flow rate part of the hysteresis curve of forward flow and relief flow characteristics.

This NORSOK standard provides requirements for the following aspects of topside process piping and equipment design on offshore production facilities:

— design pressure and temperature;

— safety instrumented secondary pressure protection systems;

— line sizing;
 
— system and equipment isolation;
 
— insulation and heat tracing.

These criteria are applicable for all processes, process support and utility systems.

Additionally this NORSOK standard defines the minimum functional requirements for process systems on an offshore installation. The standard includes a number of recommendations to give additional guidance for the system design.
